Tracey Conyer Lee is a playwright, actor, and teaching artist. She has had five of her plays produced, including her solo show, Standing Up: Bathroom Talk & Other Stuff We Learn From Dad in 2010's New York International Fringe Festival and Poor Posturing in 2013's Fire This Time festival of short plays. In 2014 Poor Posturing received a Boston run of a selected 6 of the 25+ plays from the festival's first four seasons. As the 2010-2011 resident playwright for Don't Miss A Beat, Inc., an arts and education program in Jacksonville, FL which introduces marginalized youth to the world of theater, music and dance, Tracey penned the book for three musicals. Her work as a collaborative writer was directed by Trezana Beverly in 2009 as a workshop for a burgeoning New York theater collective. In 2013 she began pre-production on her web series Fix Yo S?@#!!! which she writes and produces.
Acting highlights include Carbonell, NAACP, and Barrymore Award winning roles at regional theaters across the country including Baltimore Center Stage, Weston Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville, St. Louis Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, Florida Stage, Laguna Playhouse, TheatreWorks, Delaware Theatre, Westport Playhouse, Merrimack Rep, Virginia Stage, Ogunquit Playhouse, Great Lakes, Cleveland Playhouse, Cape Playhouse, many others, original cast of the Off-Broadway hit Sistas, on tour nationally and abroad and most recently in the original Off-Broadway cast of the critically raved (and Late Night with Conan O'Brien spoofed) Bedbugs!!! It's a Musical. Her independent film roles include an audience award for Best Lead Actress in the Appalachian Film Festival. TV roles include SMASH, Ed, recurring roles on L&O: Criminal Intent, All My Children & Guiding Light. She is currently working on the 31stish (give or take) draft of her new full length play The First Time which has received public readings at National Black Theatre and The Fire This Time festival. She likes Trader Joe's maple leaf cookies, a perfectly grilled burger, and beets.
