A proud native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, actor/writer Sujata Day now resides in Los Angeles. Her writing career began when her short story Forbidden Fate won MTV and PEOPLE magazine’s WRITE STUFF competition. Forbidden Fate was published in a collection of short stories, PIECES, edited by Stephen Chbosky. Reviews hail PIECES as “an exciting glimpse into the future of fiction” and “endearingly raw, undeniably bold, and engagingly inventive.”
Sujata produced, wrote, and starred in the web pilot, Raveena and the Vampire. She currently produces, writes, and stars in new comedy web series Larry & Lucy, a sci-fi modern day Mork & Mindy.
As a lyricist, Sujata is one-half of the band, Naked Hipster Project, whose first single Wallflower is included in the Hipsterhood series Season 2 soundtrack. Naked Hipster Project’s song Love Me More Than The Kill was recorded by pop star Sara Bareilles for the feature film Bounty Killer closing credits.
An accomplished actress, Sujata has booked many commercial, TV, and film roles. She studies advanced improv at Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre and performs with indie improv team, Token White Girl. She plays CeCe in the popular web series, Awkward Black Girl. Recent TV/Film credits include Hello Again, Arrested Development, The Guild, and Secret Life of the American Teenager.
